Silicone: Vastly superior to rubber or vinyl dildos, silicone warms up quickly, retains body heat, is non-porous and easy-to-clean. Cleaning: Run it through the dishwasher on the top rack or boil it on the stove (3-5 minutes) and viola! -- your toy is sterilized. Silicone tends to be more expensive than other toys, simply because they are superior quality and if looked after properly will last for years
Jellies: These dildos are made of a translucent, soft, and flexible substance that looks like it contains air bubbles. Cleaning: This material is a non-porous form of rubber that can be cleaned with mild soap and hot water.
Rubber: Firm, flexible, and often heavy, rubber dildos are porous and often need more care to clean than the average toy. Cleaning: Rubber dildos should always be used with condoms, but can be cleaned with mild soap and water.
Cyberskin: This material is soft and supple, and looks and feels remarkably like skin. Cleaning: Rinse with hot water, or disinfect by putting alcohol onto a cloth and lightly rubbing (avoid soap or harsh detergents); to keep the silky feel, sprinkle with cornstarch or talc.
Latex: Use only water-based lubes on latex, as oil-based substances will break it down. Cleaning: Latex is non-porous and easy to clean.
Vinyl: Vinyl toys are light in weight, easy to clean, and come in many different forms and colors. Cleaning: Vinyl products are non-porous, and can be washed with mild soap and hot water.
Care of insertable toys
Using "toy" anti-bactierial cleansers, water based lubricants and a few tips below, your new "toys" can and will give you pleasure for many years to come.
Before using a new product such as a vibrator or dildo, it is a good idea to use a antibacterial cleaner first and then rinse with lukewarm water. Most of the sprays on the market and in this store have been specifically designed for latex toys. Sterilization is difficult because you cannot boil toys in water (unless they are silicone) and bleach will — over time — damage rubber, latex, and plastic. Don't submerge the part of a battery vibe that holds the batteries. Do not submerge electric vibes at all.
Silicone dildos and plugs can be boiled up to 3 minutes, cleaned with a bleach solution, or run through your dishwasher.
Dry with a soft towel or allow to air dry. I prefer to use the drip dry, air dry system because latex and jelly toys will pick up all sorts of lint n dust. But this is a personal preference. I also have a silky nylon bag to keep them in when travelling or storing, but a plastic ziplock bag will do the job
To store a clean jelly toy, place a small amount of water-based lubricant (the size of a dime) onto your jelly toy and spread over the entire surface of the toy, excluding the battery cage. This will keep your jelly toys soft and pliable and protect the jelly material from drying or cracking, prolonging the life of your toy.
Use only water-based lubricants with your toys. Oil-based products such as baby oil, petroleum jelly or massage oil, will eventually break down the material of the toy. Oils arent the most hygenic items to use internally, so water based is the best way to go
Batteries--remove them when not in use .....it preserves the life of your batteries and prevents leakage and corrosion of the motor.
If you are using the same toy vaginally and anally, the use of a condom will reduce the risk of infecting yourself or a partner. Ideally use different toys for different pleasures.
